What is this?

Plas2Fuel's first beta unit that converts all plastics back into crude oil. Very cool. I am still unsure of the energy balance and the supply of plastics, but the process seems to work.

whats the point? There is heaps of expensive and dirty in the world, for example shale oil and atlantic oil, so why unlock the trapped carbon in plastics to squeeze out a bit more oil? Has the point been missed that oil is the major problem, not the running out of? Perhaps Plas2Fuels can look at some of the new electric cars or the research into turning corn husks into ethanol instead of the corn itself, perhaps they can try and be a part of the solution rather than the problem and perhaps they can stop trying to cash in for a quick buck. I've never seen these guys but my bet is they are in their 50's, too old to be around to see the consequences when they unfold but just young enough to squeeze out a couple more bucks before retirement.
